The task force will report directly to President Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

The United States President Donald Trump has announced the creation of a new federal task force aimed at coordinating the US government’s efforts in artificial intelligence and maintaining the country’s leadership in the rapidly developing technology.

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump said the task force, called the “Super Intelligence Force,” would coordinate federal AI initiatives and oversee the government’s engagement with consumers, public-interest groups, religious organisations, critical infrastructure providers and AI companies.

According to Trump, Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton will lead the task force. Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor were also named among its senior officials.

The task force will report directly to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

The announcement came days after Trump met executives from several major AI companies at the White House. Following the meeting, the companies signed a voluntary agreement aimed at strengthening internal safeguards and review mechanisms for AI models.

Trump also signed an executive order directing federal agencies to use the terms “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in place of “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI,” according to a White House fact sheet released on Tuesday.

The new task force is expected to serve as a central mechanism for coordinating the administration’s approach to AI across federal agencies and its engagement with industry and other stakeholders.
